Staff contracts for both support and teaching staff can be managed in the MIS, or externally in a third-party product. If you intend to run the staff workforce census from the GO MIS this will need to be enabled.
Go to Settings > School contacts and settings > MIS (tab) to enable Staff contracts:
Permissions
Users will require permission for:
- Can view staff record
- Can manage roles and permissions.
Staff contracts
The contracts section will display all contracts for an individual staff member with start and end dates. - Clicking the edit icon will allow access to the details of each contract:
New contracts can be added from the +Add new contract button. Any key changes to contracts will require the previous contract to end, and a new one added.
Setting the 'Post' will add the category of staff for Teachers or Support staff. Both fields are terminologies that are used in the census.
Details of the contact can be added for payments, additional payments and the teacher role. Currently there is no look-up for teachers and support staff pay scales these will be added later.
A contract can have multiple roles appended to it but must have at least one, the tabs and add/delete buttons control the selection addition and deletion of these roles.
- Role identifier is a terminology which changes the name of the tab designated to the role.
- Each role can have additional payments, but this is not required, if an additional payment is present it must have a payment type.
Managing staff leavers
In the staff member details of the contract section, a contract end data can be added. The Leaving section can then be used to add details of the destination for the member of staff.
On clicking ok, if there are validation errors, they will now be shown below the inputs, as well as a message in the footer, and the ok button will be disabled until they are all fixed.
