Moving the feed system to a new server

 

  1. Copy the ‘configs’ folder from the old server which can be found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Hyperspheric Solutions Ltd\GO 4 Schools Feed System

  1. Download and install the feed system from GO4Schools.com.

  1. Replace the ‘configs’ folder on the new server with the one copied from the old server. Usually found in the same path/location as in step 1.
  2. Launch the feed system.
  3. Check each tab to ensure that the settings/user credentials are populated.
  4. Create a GO4Schools temporary feeds folder either on the C: drive or data drive. (IMPORTANT- The temp folder must be on a local drive not on a network drive).
  5. Select the temporary feeds folder on the ‘Schedule Tasks’ tab and click ‘Save Preferences’.

  1. Check the SIMS installation path is correct and that the new SIMS server name and Database name are entered on the ‘MIS Settings’ tab. Then update the SIMS report by clicking ‘Re-import report definitions’.

  1. If your schools uses the GO 4 Schools attendance module, please ensure that the ‘Webservice URL’ is populated with this address (https://www.go4schools.com/interface/SIMS/SIMSService.asmx), enabled and schedules/times entered on the ‘Attendance Module’ tab.
  2. Run ‘GO - Daily Feed’ from Windows Task Scheduler.
  3. Raise a ticket with the GO 4 Schools support team to check if the feeds were successful.
